In many situations, users want to or need to resize partition. One user has encountered the situation: there are many partitions in Windows 7, whose capacity is 375GB in total while the entire hard drive is 520GB. That is to say 38GB space disappeared; therefore, the user wants to know where the disappeared space is and hopes to resize partition C with this unknown space so as to enlarge system partition.
Maybe, users are asked to download a partition magic from the internet at first to resize partition, but we suggest opening system built-in disk management tool in advance, because functions of resizing partition have been added to this tool. Please right click “Computer”, choose “Manage”, and click “Disk Management” to open the tool which shows detailed information about disks and partitions. If users find unallocated space which may be the disappeared space and it is located behind and adjacent to partition C, users can enlarge system partition directly: just right click partition C and choose the function “Extend Volume” to resize partition C according to prompts. However, if the unallocated space is not neighboring to system partition or located before system partition, users had better resort to partition magic.
To use partition magic, please download a professional one at first. If users have difficulties in downloading this kind of software, try using MiniTool Partition Wizard. After software installation, run it to open the main interface:
Then, select partition C and choose the function “Extend Partition” from action panel to resize partition C.
Next, select a partition or unallocated space to take free space which will be used to enlarge system partition and drag sliding button to decide how much free space to take. When there is unallocated space on hard disk, users had better use unallocated space to extend partition C. After that, click “OK” button to return to the main interface.
At last, click “Apply” button in the main interface to apply changes to Windows 7. After application, users resize partition C to enlarge it successfully. Now, download the partition magic to resize partition reasonably.
